Here is one of Houdini this morning, giving me the "Feed Me!" look.
They got their mixture of corn and silage along with a pile of hay. Happy boys.
I wasn't planning on coming to town but went to get a replacement bar and chain for the old chain saw at tractor supply and found only cheap worthless Chinese products for sale, Damn and Blast!!!
They used to sell US made Oregon products that seem to cut better than Stihl original equipment. So I came across the street and sent off an email to Tractor Supply to see if they still had any of the good ones that I could order. Fools.
Pretty good light this morning early but got kind of washed out as the day went on. Still it is nice to have a warm afternoon.
I went out to Callaway and picked up the saw that I put in to be worked on, turns out the fuel line and filter were messed up, dirty I guess so they got replaced. I will go back out there and get a new bar if I can't find Oregon anywhere around here.
Dusty typically has the Lyle Lovett look but somehow overnight, he managed to create a unicorn hair style out of his collection of burrs. I had made some progress on pulling them out but it looks like we have a slight set back.
Worked on opening up a trail to the tree in the distance with a limb down. It is old maple and will make a good bit of wood but it all has to be wheelbarrowed down the creek. Shouldn't be too bad though as it is mostly a gentle slope down to where I stack the wood near the upper bridge.
Not easy to see but the dark area is a tree of heaven stump that I cut last year and it has sent up new trees around the edge that will soon be as large as the one that I cut in about 5 years. That is why I call it a renewable fuel as it comes back as soon as you cut one.
Some rusty treasures that I found this morning while digging around an old building as I was taking a break from manure shoveling. Fun stuff.
Interesting treasures.
ReplyDeleteYes, our horses get into those burrs too. Our pony is the worst!
I will takel the project at some point, maybe when the burrs are all gone as I don't want to do it twice.
Deleteoh i really hate that we can't get anything of quality anymore. all the stores sell the cheap made in china stuff...what can we do? so hard to find anything that is made in america...very sad...haha, dusty with the unicorn look! neat treasures you found...yes, loving this sunshine!
ReplyDeleteRaining today so I took lots of B&W this morning.
DeleteNice find on the old tools. I bet if they could talk they could tell you stories.
ReplyDeleteThat's how I look at it. The small hoe had hardly any wear so it will be put to work this year.
DeleteDusty's unicorn hair! Ha! I love it! It's hilarious!!!! The tools are pretty neat too!!! Enjoy your weather its not nice here today but my state needs the moisture even if its COLD!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are getting light rain today but still in the 40s.
Deleteomg...dusty? ouch..tht is going to take a lot of brushing! houdini's look is so precious! funny, teddy gives me that same look!
ReplyDeleteI don't get the same look from Moodini but he is younger so maybe in a few months I will have a pair looking at me.
DeleteI love to see Dusty and houdini, those tools would fetch a pretty penny from collectors maybe, thats a beautiful shot of the row of trees with th light catching them,
ReplyDeleteI never sell anything but use most of it for the intended uses or something else. I am at the point that I can almost shop at an antique store for most things.
