I took this photo while letting Dusty get some grass before putting him up for the night. The cat in the center made the first move by coming out of cover and in range of attack from her sister who moved to the top of the bank. Aggy who knows the routine, moved in next to the first cat. This went on for several minutes and Aggy was ready to jump her favorite cat to chase should she come down the bank to attack her sister. Barnyard humor I guess, Dusty and I thought it was funny as he had just nudged the dominate cat out of his way, he doesn't care for cats. Finally the cat next to Aggy ran to me where it was safe and Aggy ran at the aggressor who then jumped at Aggy and just missed with her claws. All the fun was soon over and they ignored each other after that.
Sunny and it would be warm today had the wind not blown. I worked on sharpening saw blades today as I found my saw vice. I had bought a new blade for the buck saw and found that it would hardly cut, of course it turned out to be Chinese junk that appeared to be made out of a metal shipping strap that had been punched out in the shape of a saw and then the points had been hardened. It had never been sharpened only stamped out in a sharp shape. I tried to sharpen it but they had the points so hard that it was like trying to sharpen a file so I put an old blade in the vice and it sharpened like a knife. Had I been able to find the vice I wouldn't have bought the new worthless blade, oh well, maybe I can use it to cut something soft.
I came out to buy chicken feed and almost bought a new file but noticed it was made in China so I will look for something else on another trip. Going back home and get ready to feed the animals in awhile.
I suppose the best tools would be found at estate sales or old barns, must be frustrating though, the cats are better than TV!What a show,
ReplyDeleteCats should be on TV.
DeleteI got the old saw sharpened and cut a wheelbarrow load of wood in a few minutes, getting the teeth set properly was the problem.
Cat games! I love that, you can see the planning going on in their minds. Too bad about the saw. I would avoid China too.
ReplyDeleteFun on the farm, the animals can be such clowns.
DeleteIt's so hard to avoid Chinese products. Sometimes if something is made in India I buy it instead! (lol) We had bought something simple, ice cube trays, made in China and they were horrible. The next time I bought made in USA ones without even noticing until I got home and noticed how sturdy they were, how they worked like an ice cube tray is supposed to... What a difference. Enjoyed the cat tale.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the Chinese just send their junk to us and actually have good products at home?
DeleteI love to watch cats play! It's funny to watch them.
ReplyDeleteProducts from China...hard to avoid them, although I do try. USA labels are getting harder and harder to find, and that is sad to me.
I sometimes shop at antique shops for tools but got stupid and went to the store for a new saw blade. I worked on an old one and have it in use now, not sure what to do with the chinese one, maybe it will be good for something. Sawing butter maybe.
Deleteoh i wish we'd stop getting all this junk from china...the food kills our pets, the toys and necessities are junk and just fill our landfills...when will it end?
ReplyDeleteI feel like we lost a war that I missed when I go to buy something like a tool, it is all imported and just doesn't have the same quality. If I were young, I wouldn't know any different and think everything was great I guess.
DeleteThe Chinese must be laughing all the way to the bank. I try not to buy things from China, but sometimes there's no alternative!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they have to buy the same junk we get, I feel sorry for them if they do.
