Tuesday

It was sunny this morning so I started hauling horse manure to the garden in a wheelbarrow that was momentarily free from firewood duty. Next thing it clouded and began to rain some so I stopped. Fixed a pot of vegetable soup from root cellar items and some left over meat. The sun came out again after lunch and I got the mobile electric fence charger out and set up a small area for Dusty. A patch of grass here and there helps feed the big boy.

  1. Nice try with the manure hauling...the weather never likes to cooperate does it? Dusty sure looks like he's excited about the grass though - he's definitely on a mission in that photo!

  2. Dusty can feel the blades of grass with his lips like we would do with our fingers, it is amazing how he can grab all of the grass and leave weeds and other things on the ground. At night he tends to put his manure on the old road where my firewood is stacked so I can gather it every once in awhile and take it to the garden. I have read where experts say you can't put manure on a garden but I have always done it with good results.
