Monday

I finished stretching canvas today and then stacked wood that had blown over in the high winds the other day. It was cold most of the morning as it went to 16 F last night, I kept the furnace filled with wood and opened up the air intake to give a hotter fire. Brought in 2 wheel barrows of wood this afternoon so the supply is back to full. Burning some cherry as I like to smell it when over on the hill getting the horse. Smells like cherry pipe tobacco. The cold wears on you so I am tired of the cold and ready for spring.
 I hadn't taken any photos today so I took one of Debbie bringing Dusty over to night pasture. It has clouded and they are calling for rain and warmer. The chickens seemed late laying today, it must be the below freezing temperatures that hung around all morning. Some have a little frostbite on their combs but not bad.

  1. Really enjoyable to browse through your days captured on this blog Sunnybrook! I can relate to your perspective on living off the land and making do. It is encouraging to see you doing it so well!

  2. Hi Poppy;
    Some days are better than others :-) . We finally got a much needed warm day, if the mud would just harden up some it would be real nice.
